D+DESIGN a major new design competition

This major new design competition seeks innovative solutions to address the growing problem of urban poverty.

This international public competition aims to collect innovative and efficient projects to address the challenges of growing urban poverty, which takes multiple forms and conditions. For the initiators of this competition, this situation highlights, in all its scandalous drama, "a planning deficit" to answer the complex needs of a new special citizen, a different resident, who doesn't want to be annihilated by his poor condition. For these inhabitants, as much as for ordinary city residents, there is an urgent need to imagine, design, test, plan and build more, to access the conditions of a dignified and human life. The aim is to give space to a new network of sharing places and services, a new system of innovation, mobility, culture and solidarity.

The competition is aimed at Architects, Designers, Artisans, Artists, Scientists, Technicians, Experts in communication, Students of Colleges and Universities, between 18 and 45 years old.

Online registration: before 1st October 2016
Deadline for the delivery of projects: 15th October 2016

Up to twenty projects will be selected by the jury 3 winning prizes (€5,000, €2 000, €1.500)

The competition is run by VISIONICA Association- Amici di Mediateca Onlus (VISIONICA Onus), with Istituto Francese Italia (IFI) with the support of Fonds d'Alembert- Institut français Paris , DASTU- Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with PoliSocial-Politecnico of Milan, VISIONLab-Triennale di Milano, and with the sponsorship of Ordine degli Architetti PPC di Milano.
