BEDA members BNO are a sponsor and contributor to the MakersUnite programme, which envisages offering designers displaced by conflict a professional network as well as openings to possible jobs. Participants are offered collective matchmaking events and short term internships at cooperating design agencies.
Makers Unite has designed an effective social inclusion programme based on collaboratively creating sustainable products. The Makers Unite platform offers the first steps for newcomers to regain dignity, network and rebuild their lives. By connecting their ambitions to opportunities we can actually impact people’s lives. Making together leads to dialogue and trust: stories are being shared and participants discover talents and ambitions. Based on the power of making, Makers Unite has created a six week programme, paving the way towards social inclusion.
